ARCHITECTURE2005-2006

Located at Hong Luo lake, this is the sales office/club house of a european style villa compound. Client wanted a show-off building and got something special and (for china) quite unique. the building has gained quite some recognition as being MADs first finished and fully build project.

 

It was my first project for MAD. basic concept and a sketch of the roof was already there, so i did schematic design, complete EPD and DD, a tiny bit of CD, most of the site supervision and the furnishing concept. The project was scheduled to take three months from design take-over until opening, but in the end it turned out to be more than a year of construction struggle. more than a few construction teams and engineers had to give up, due to double curvature of the roof and the (for china)uncommon and extravagant overall shape.
